Liberty UMC has been serving the local Buckeye Valley community for over 115 years. A part of the United Methodist denomination, we are a church with a deep history while still turning our faces toward the future in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Relationships are an important part of community and Liberty is a place where faith, family and friends meet. Support, connection and friendships are waiting for you at Liberty UMC.

Meet our team …

Our pastor, Robert (Bob) Lind, moved from Montana to Arizona with wife, Marla, in 1976. Life long Methodists, Bob and Marla have been married 50 years! Ask them sometime about how they got together, you won’t believe it. Blessed with four sons, Marla and Bob also enjoy spending time with their 11 grandchildren.
Pastor Bob received a call to ministry which he could not ignore in 2004 moving into his first appointment at Creighton UMC (now The Bridge) in September 2005, Community Church of Buckeye in 2009, and ministry at Ajo UMC before retiring.
In July 2024 Pastor Bob accepted an interim appointment for Liberty UMC and has enjoyed his time with us enough to remain as our permanent pastor!

Christian Study at Liberty UMC
Adult study and Youth class meet Sundays at 8:45 AM (except first Sundays when we have potluck!)
Children stay in Sanctuary until just after the Children’s Moment and then move to Sunday School for age appropriate fun while learning about God and His plan for us.
A long-held Methodist tradition, is meeting in small groups. Our Home Group is the last Tuesday of each month, 6:30 PM at the home of a church member. If you are interested in learning more about this study group inquire with our pastor.
