Robert Lind, or Pastor Bob, moved to Arizona with his wife, Marla, in February 1976. They were both born and raised in Montana where Pastor Bob’s father and maternal grandfather were both Methodist pastors.
Pastor Bob and Marla met while attending college at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. They married 50 years ago in October 1974. Ask them sometime about how they got together. You won’t believe it. Marla and Bob were blessed with four sons who have added 11 grandchildren to the family.
A few months after moving to Arizona, Pastor Bob enrolled in Arizona State University and earned a master’s degree in public administration.
Pastor Bob received a call to ministry which he could not ignore in 2004. In 2005, he attended licensing school and entered the Course of Study program to become a licensed local pastor. He received an appointment to serve as pastor of Creighton United Methodist Church (now The Bridge) in September 2005, appointed to the Community Church of Buckeye in 2009 where he served 12 years. After two additional years of ministry at Ajo United Methodist Church, Pastor Bob retired.
Pastor Bob accepted the interim appointment as pastor for Liberty United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2024. We all look forward to working with Pastor Bob over the coming year and extend our heartfelt thanks for returning from retirement to serve.
