October 4, 1923 – May 20, 2025
Anna has been a treasured, long time member of the congregation of Liberty United Methodist Church, Buckeye, AZ. She will be missed by her family, our church, and the community to which she gave so much of her time, energy and love.

.

Born to Albert and Lucy Jantz at Fort Thomas, AZ, she graduated from Litchfield High School and later, at age 36, pursued her post-secondary education at Arizona State University, where she earned her teaching degree.
Before beginning her teaching career, Anna worked alongside her husband, Virgil, on their 80-acre dairy farm.
Anna’s Memorial Service on Saturday, May 31, 2025 included remembrances from several of her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her loving and gentle voice, passing on her love of travel, reading, puzzles, and her love of sports, particularly her Arizona Diamondbacks and bowling.
Anna loved her God and her family with her whole heart.
Anna was profiled in the West Valley View in October 2023 following the special service commemorating her 100th birthday (link here), noted in the Next Generation section of an on-line presentation with her husband, Virgil, by Pastor B. Ritland, (link here) marking the 100 year celebration of her church in 2009 and was a major contributor to a West Valley View article highlighting the historic recognition of her little church on April 8, 2018 (West Valley View, Pg. 22).
Church services on Sunday June 1st will be followed by a traditional covered dish/potluck luncheon in honor Anna in the Liberty Memorial Hall.
