Candlelight Christmas Eve Service

Thank you to everyone who attended the Liberty United Methodist Church Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

Anna’s 100

In honor of our own Anna E., who celebrated her 101st birthday on October 4th, 2024, 112 blankets were collected for Sleep in Heavenly Peace! Last year, in honor of her 100th birthday, Liberty UMC set a goal to collect 100 blankets for Sleep In Heavenly Peace during the first ever blanket drive.

This year the goal was 101 and we did it again! Final count 112 blankets.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort!

Operation Shoebox

We currently have 113 boxes completed for Operation Christmas Child!

Please remember to have any remaining boxes back at the church by Sunday, November17th. We will be moving the completed boxes to a drop-off center on Tuesday, November 19th!

Watch for updates on our efforts to reach the 100 box goal and on when completed boxes need to be dropped for for transfer to the Operation Christmas Child processing center.

Greek for a Day!

Sunday, October 13, 2024 the Liberty Youth Study attended worship the Greek Orthodox service at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix with some great food and good fun after at the 63rd Annual Greek Festival.

We learned a bit about the Cathedral, dedicated in 1973, ate some good Greek food and watched some of the church children and youth participate in traditional Greek dancing.

Want to learn more about our day? Check out the Liberty Lantern Iss. 2 Vol. 23 (Click Here).

Update: Thank you to everyone who stayed for Greek food during the Fellowship on Sunday, Nov. 10th. The menu of Spanakopita, Dolmades, Greek Salad, Pita Bread with Hummus and a variety of Baklava and Greek cookies was well received.

Thank you also to Linda Bell for the Peppermint Bark, a wonderful treat for our own Zachary G. who had to forego the other desserts due to his nut allergy!
